A nurse draws blood from a patient for a type of therapy called Ultraviolet blood irradiation at the Healing Sanctuary on Thursday. The patients own blood, up to 240 cc worth or less than half a cup, is drawn, mixed with saline, exposed to specific ultraviolet light and is put back in the body.
