State and local prisons try to keep transgender inmates safe

The Bonneville County Jail currently has two transgender inmates. “They are afforded the same rights and privileges as any other inmate in here,” Bonneville County Jail Lt. Laurie Kendrick said. “At times it requires escorts (by jail staff) but it’s mostly about proper housing.
