Rockwell Homes confirms development plans

One of the largest homebuilders in eastern Idaho is looking to expand an existing subdivision in Idaho Falls and to develop other new construction projects in the coming months.

According to public records obtained through Bonneville County Planning and Zoning, 11 permits were approved in January for the construction of single-family residences in the current Green Valley Estates subdivision around Iona Road and Crowley Road.

The approved permits allow for construction along Florian Avenue within the development, and range in construction value from $100,940 to $122,460.

Greg Hansen, vice president of Rockwell Homes, said this will be the final phase of development plans for Green Valley, and anticipates the construction of an additional 63 units to begin this spring.

Hansen also said Rockwell Homes will be expanding construction in eight to 12 of its current developments, and is commencing plans on three additional developments in the region this year. Expansion and new development plans will be available in early spring.

FlyGuys Haircuts opens in I.F.

A new barbershop has opened in Idaho Falls and is promoting a “man cave” style atmosphere for its clients.

FlyGuys Haircuts opened last week at 591 E. 17th St., promoting a flat monthly membership fee for services, and unique modern “man-cave” environment featuring stainless steel, leather, and walls of TVs.

The Idaho-based company opened its first location in 2015 in Twin Falls. Idaho Falls is the second location.

“The FlyGuys experience is pretty unique,” co-founder Charlie Wright said. “We really try to wow customers with every visit, and they seem genuinely excited to have a place to sit down, turn on the game, and just relax.”

FlyGuys emphasizes unlimited haircuts for monthly members, and on-demand appointments through its app. It also welcomes walk-in customers.

“We’re super excited,” Wright said. “We think guys in Idaho Falls are going to just love it.”

FlyGuys offers its unlimited haircut membership for $24 per month, and walk-in service at $17.

Bingham Memorial program

receives five-star distinction

A nursing and rehabilitation program at Bingham Memorial Hospital has received national recognition for excellence in medical care and coverage.

The Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was recently honored with a five-star award from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

A five-star distinction is the highest rating awarded by CMS, a federal agency within the United States Department of Health and Human Services.

The awards are based off a recent update of nationwide Medicare Advantage star ratings on health plans, which allow consumers to explore options that will best suit their individual needs.

The rating was calculated from the most recent state inspection results, certain quality measures, and staffing levels.

Mark Teckmeyer, administrator of the Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center said in a news release that the award “validates the work we do and is a reflection of our mission to provide the best, high-quality, and compassionate care in eastern Idaho.

Expansion approved for

Linden Trails Subdivision

Nineteen building permits were approved Feb. 1 by Idaho Falls building officials for townhome construction at the Linden Trails Subdivision on the corner of Pancheri Drive and Periska Way.

Roth Properties, of Idaho Falls, is listed as the applicant on each permit, with the owner listed as New Earth Development, a company based out of Jackson, Wyo.

The planned buildings are classified as a residential combination, with three residences included with each complex. Blake Jolley of New Earth Development estimates that 43 total complexes will be built on the site, totaling 129 new residencies.

Each complex has a listed job value of $125,685.
