Judge candidates headed to runoff

The top two finishers out of three candidates running for Judge Jon Shindurling’s vacant seat in District 7 will face off again in a run-off election on the ballot for the Nov. 4 Idaho general election.

None of the three took more than 50 percent of the vote, triggering the run-off.

Bonneville County Prosecutor Bruce Pickett garnered 49 percent of the vote — just 1.1 percent shy of the necessary majority vote to take the election without a run-off. Stevan Thompson, who took 28.6 percent of the vote, advances to the run-off. Scott J. Davis, who received 22.4 percent of the vote will not be on the ballot.
