Gunman robs Walgreens in Blackfoot, no injuries reported

Law officers were searching for a lone gunman late Tuesday who reportedly robbed a Walgreens store in Blackfoot.

A spokeswoman for the Bingham County emergency dispatch center said no shots were fired or injuries reported in the 9 p.m. incident at the store at 960 W. Bridge St.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. He was wearing a black baseball cap, sunglasses, gray jacket and blue jeans. Investigators were told the man was armed with either a .22- or .380-caliber black pistol. He also was carrying a black duffel bag with a white Nike “swish” logo.

Authorities would not comment on what was taken in the hold-up. Shortly before 10 p.m., a spokesman at the store told the Post Register he could not comment on the incident.

The investigation was led by officers from the Blackfoot Police Department.
