Idaho Falls Police arrest three in BB Gun incident

A violent argument that started Wednesday evening ended in a BB gun shooting Thursday afternoon that injured two Idaho Falls men, authorities said.

Two Idaho Falls sisters — Dominica Maddux, 47, and Dia Maddux, 38 — along with one of the injured men — Brent Logan, 24 — all were arrested and booked into the Bonneville County Jail.

Dominica Maddux was charged with two counts of felony aggra-

vated battery, while Logan was

charged with attempted strangulation.

Dia Maddux was charged with failing to appear in court on a case unrelated to Thursday’s incident.

Idaho Falls Police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen said the trouble started sometime Wednesday evening when Dia Maddux and Logan got involved in an argument that ended with Logan attempting to choke the woman. The incident happened at a residence on the 600 block of Holbrook Drive, where Logan was staying.

At mid-afternoon Thursday, Dominica Maddux showed up

at the door of the home. Hansen said police were called to the residence at 3:14 p.m.

Tim Hanekamp, 51,, who lives at the Holbrook Drive

residence, said Dominica Maddux started scream-

ing at Logan from the front porch. Hanekamp said Dia Maddux and Logan had been involved in a romantic relationship in the past.

Logan was asleep in the living room, Hanekamp said, when Dominica Maddux started firing a BB gun through the screen door. Logan was hit in the mouth. The BBs shattered some of Logan’s teeth, Hanekamp said.

Dominica Maddux repeatedly shot from outside of the house, Hanekamp said, hitting him in the knee.

At that point, Hanekamp, unsure what type of weapon Maddux was firing, pulled out a

handgun. Maddux fled. Hanekamp said he then called police, who arrested Dominica Maddux at a home across the street.

Hansen said Logan and Hanekamp were treated at the scene.

Attempted strangulation is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Aggravated battery is punishable by up to 15 years in prison per count.
