Otter designates Rigby ‘Capital for a Day’

Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter and other members of the state executive branch will travel to Rigby on Wednesday as a part of the “Capital for a Day” program.

State officials will gather from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rigby Senior Citizens Center, 391 Community Lane.

The Capital for a Day program is held in a different Idaho city each month. Those attending will have an opportunity to discuss government issues and public policy with Otter and other state officials.

Those planning to attend the Rigby event include, Department of Fish and Game Director Virgil Moore, Department of Lands Director Tom Schultz, Department of Water Resources Director Gary Spackman, Department of Parks and Recreation Director Nancy Merrill, Department of Correction Director Brent Reinke, Division of Building Safety Administrator C. Kelly Pearce, Office of Energy Resources Administrator John Chatburn, Tax Commissioner Tom Katsilometes and Transportation Board member Lee Gagner.

Representatives from the Transportation Department, Department of Health and Welfare, Department of Environmental Quality and Department of Commerce also are expected to be on hand.
