Mayor Rebecca Casper was elected one of two District 6 directors of the Association of Idaho Cities last week.
Casper’s position in the group, a nonprofit corporation that serves the state’s 200 incorporated cities, will last one year, according to a news release.
“As the largest city on this side of the state, Idaho Falls has long been a resource for eastern Idaho cities,” Casper said in a statement. “The (association) is considered a vital resource when it comes to the management of all of Idaho’s cities. Combining our presence with that resource means a lot. I am very excited for this opportunity.”
She was administered the oath of office June 20 during the AIC’s annual conference, according to the release. More than 360 delegates attended the conference.
Island Park Mayor Tom Jewell was elected the second director of District 6.
