Police seek clues in reported Idaho Falls stabbing

Detectives with the Idaho Falls Police Department were investigating a stabbing late Saturday in the vicinity of First Street and Lee Avenue.

The victim, identified only as a white male, was stabbed two to three times, Lt. Curtis Stacey said. The man was was taken to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center for treatment, but Stacey said the man’s wounds were not considered life threatening.

Other details surrounding the incident, which reportedly occurred between 6 and 6:30 p.m., were not available. Investigators were trying to piece together what happened and determine who was responsible for inflicting the wounds, Stacey said.

As of 10 p.m., police still were not releasing any details about a possible suspect. But Stacey said some evidence connected to the stabbing, including a possible weapon, had been recovered.
