Ten downtown restaurants, bars and pubs will participate in Friday’s Taste of Downtown in the 300 block of Park Avenue.
The event, hosted by the Idaho Falls Downtown Development Corporation, is celebrating its fourth year of highlighting the local cuisine found in downtown Idaho Falls, a Development Corporation news release said.
Taste of Downtown is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to the Development Corporation’s Facebook page. Liatt & Dan will provide live music.
“The Taste of Downtown showcases the local restaurants, bars, and pubs that are a centerpiece of our historic downtown,” said Catherine Smith, the Development Corporation’s executive director. “… Guests can watch how different chefs, employees and owners bring everything together with mouthwatering creations and enjoy right there on the spot.”
Smith said the event also “gives everyone a greater appreciation for our local cuisine and entrepreneurship right here in our own downtown.”
Taste of Downtown tickets are $1 each and will be available at the event. Participating restaurants include: City Bagels & Bakery, BlackRock, A Street Soup Market, Villa Coffeehouse, The SnakeBite Restaurant, Pachangas, The Celt, Persnickety Lemon Deli, Diabala’s Kitchen, and Grandpa’s Southern BBQ. Each restaurant will set its “taste” amount, or ticket amount, for a variety of dishes available at each booth.
Proceeds from this event go to the nonprofit CASA-Court Appointed Special Advocates.
