Bonneville Joint School District 93 trustees will hold a special meeting Wednesday to talk about how and whether to move forward with a possible bond for some major construction projects.
The school board voted 3-2 earlier this year to put a $58.5 million bond to build a new middle school and a special education hub on the ballot, but that plan was scrapped after one of the “yes” votes didn’t seek re-election and was replaced on the board by a critic of the proposal.
Since then, the board has been considering whether to try again for a bond to pay for a new middle and/or elementary school and/or a special education hub. District officials say the new buildings are needed due to enrollment growth. Trustees have until Jan. 23 to decide whether to put a bond on the March 2018 ballot.
The meeting starts at 11:30 a.m. at Cloverdale Elementary School, 3999 Greenwillow Lane, Idaho Falls.
