Election results: Casper retains I.F. mayor’s seat

Idaho Falls Mayor Rebecca Casper was elected to a second term Tuesday night, winning a runoff election against City Councilwoman Barbara Ehardt by an 1,887-vote margin — 5,304 to 3,417. Casper secured 61 percent of the vote.

Blackfoot voters selected a new mayor, with challenger Marc Carroll beating incumbent Paul Loomis 674 (55 percent) to 542 (45 percent) in their runoff.
