Bingham County searching for missing boater

The Bingham County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a missing person after a drift boat capsized on the Snake River near Shelley.

Sheriff Craig Rowland said the Sheriff’s Office received a report after 2 p.m. Wednesday that a drift boat had capsized with two people in it. One of the occupants made it to shore but as of 5:30 p.m. Sheriff’s Office personnel were still searching for the other occupant.

Rowland declined to release the names of the occupants and said he did not know why they were on the river.
