A male juvenile was injured Thursday when his car was struck by a train northeast of Idaho Falls.
According to a Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office news release, the male juvenile failed to yield at a railroad crossing and was struck by the train near 81st North and Foothill Road. Sheriff’s office deputies and an Idaho Falls ambulance responded to the scene at approximately 5:09 p.m. The driver of the car was transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center with “significant injuries,” the release said.
The release said the sheriff’s office and Eastern Idaho Railroad are investigating the crash. No other information is available at press time.
