Forest Service tree permits available

Caribou-Targhee National Forest Christmas tree permits can be purchased at Forest Service offices and at many vendor locations.

Permits are limited to one per household for one tree and cost $15 for trees up to 20 feet. Permit prices and restrictions are different for trees cut on Bureau of Land Management lands. Locations to obtain tree permits, tree care tips and more information can be found at tinyurl.com/y9a4rate.

Award nominations for art close Friday

The Idaho Falls Arts Council presents awards to those who have shown either exceptional achievement in the arts or support of the arts in the past year. Nominations must be submitted by Friday.

Nominations must include the nominee’s name, which award they are being nominated for and less than 250 words about why they should be honored in 2017. The form for nominations can be found at idahofallsarts .org/arts-award-nomina tions-2017.

Horse-drawn trolley rides held downtown

On Nov. 25, downtown horse-drawn trolley rides will run from 2 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. at the Civitan Plaza, the corner of Park Avenue and B Street. The rides also run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 2, 9, 16 and 23.

Rides are free and sponsored by Syringa Networks, CableOne, Idaho Mountain Trading and Weebee Toys.
