Letter to the editor: Mr. “I Don’t Recall”

Mr. “I Don’t Recall”

Received Nov. 29

I watched Attorney General Jeff Sessions’, Mr. “I Don’t Recall,” testify before members of the House of Representatives on CNN.

One Congressman asking the questions stated, “Sessions used the same rhetoric over and over again, stating that he did not recall 26 times,” on questions concerning Trump’s involvement with the Russians during the 2016 campaign.

Sessions’ wife was seated right behind him during the hearings to make sure that Sessions made a good impression when he stated that he “never lied,” when he did during his confirmation hearings and the Republicans voted to confirm him anyway.

I remember another person named Richard Nixon who tried the same method to convince the American people when stated on TV, “I am not a crook,” but really was and was forced to resign over his involvement during the Watergate scandal.

Both Nixon and Sessions, Mr. “I Don’t Recall,” looked and acted like the cat that just swallowed the canary, trying to persuade the public that they were innocent. Trump recently called Sessions an idiot. I do believe that Trump hit the nail on the head there because if Sessions’ memory is that “he can’t recall,” he should resign as attorney general.
