Not rude to say ‘Merry Christmas’
Received Dec. 3
I read with interest the letter from Maggie Croft on Dec. 1 regarding political correctness bringing about respect.
The holiday celebrated Dec. 25 each year is celebrating the birth of Christ. Therefore “Merry Christmas” is the greeting I choose to use.
I am always happy to hear “Happy Hanukkah and/or Kwanzaa,” this showing me people are as proud of their religious beliefs as I am of mine
I do not believe it’s crude of Barbara Erhardt to state using “Merry Christmas” should be allowed.
The reason we get the day off, the mail does not deliver, city governments are closed, retail stores are closed, fast food and dine-in restaurants, etc. are closed is because of the celebration of Christ’s birth December 25.
