Letter to the editor: Stand up and be counted

Stand up and be counted

Received Dec. 2

A recent letter resonates with me and I am sure most of your readers.

The new tax bill is nothing more than an effort by those in power who place party above country to pass legislation that will allow them and an egotistical, megalomaniac misfit to say “See, we did something.”

The bill was crafted with little transparency and I’m guessing little input from economists and lots of help from lobbyists.

It’s not fair to many and benefits many who can an should pay a little more. It adds a trillion dollars to our debt in ten years. That’s a one followed by twelve zeros, Senators Crapo and Risch and Congressman Simpson!

So I add to Tim Hopkins’ plea in his letter. Stand up and be counted!
