Massacre Rocks State Park is hosting its annual New Year’s Bonfire from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Jan. 6. The event will take place at the park across the road from the Register Rock Picnic Area.
The entry fee for the event is two nonperishable food items per person; food items collected will be donated to the local food bank.
Massacre Rocks State Park is located off exit 28 of Interstate 86, 10 miles west of American Falls.
Beginning Dec. 27 and continuing through Jan. 5, a dump truck will be parked in the parking area across the street from the Power County Community Center to accept Christmas trees. Anyone interested can also bring their tree to the park on Jan. 7 and throw it on the fire themselves.
Event sponsors will provide free hot dogs, chili and hot chocolate for all participants.
