Madison High School graduate and Utah State junior Chari Hawkins earned her second straight second-team All-American honor Friday with a ninth-place finish Friday in the heptathlon at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships at the University of Oregon.
Hawkins, now a Utah State junior, scored 5,552 points at the meet, two points better than her season best set at the Mt Sac Relays. She entered the meet ranked 13th in the nation among Division I heptathletes, moving up four spots from there, and two spots from her 11th-place finish in 2013.
