Firth girls start season with win

At Aberdeen, the Firth High School girls basketball team began the 2017-18 season with a 55-31 nonconference win over Aberdeen.

Firth head coach Sharla Cook said every member of her roster got minutes in the win.

“I was really impressed with the way the kids shared the ball tonight,” Cook said. “Totally unselfish play. There were some first game jitters. It’s nice to always get a win the first time out.”

Hailey Gee and Savannah Brewington had 10 points each while Ashlee Adams and Cammie Gee each had seven for Firth (1-0), which hosts West Side tonight.
