Rexburg’s Smith wins night two of NFR bull riding

The second night of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo was especially good to Rexburg cowboy Garrett Smith.

The Madison County man won night two of bull riding, receiving a score of 87 on Friday for his ride on a bull named J Lazy at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Of the 15 bull riders competing, Smith was one of six to stay on for the required eight seconds Friday night.

It was the second consecutive night Smith received a score. He took third on Thursday night.

He received $26,230.77 in winnings for Friday night’s performance, boosting his total winnings this season to $253,797.15. Smith is second in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association bull riding world standings.
