BOISE — An Idaho House committee backed legislation Wednesday declaring that Idaho lawmakers can void federal laws and court decisions, and setting up a process to do so, despite an Idaho attorney general’s opinion that the measure likely wouldn’t withstand a court challenge.
The Department of Juvenile Corrections moved an inmate charged with sexual abuse to the “special management unit” for safety concerns Wednesday, the same day a department news release said they were “confident he does not pose a threat to other residents.”
