Strange happenings up north for XC

Strange things happened at the 2009 high school state cross-country championships Saturday in Worley.

GREEN CANYON — The Salmon girls came into the 3A District 6 cross-country championships with a one-two punch and walked away with their first district title since 2003.

The Hillcrest Knights defended their 4A District 6 girls and boys cross-country titles Friday at Blackfoot High School.
Hillcrest sophomore Callie Evans repeated as district champion with a fast 19:25 clocking. Teammate Tyler Crofts won the boys race in 15:57 to help his team win the boys crown.

Pocatello runners dominated the annual Tiger-Grizz cross-country race Friday at Freeman Park.
