On the recruiting trail: Tayler Singleton and Riggan Angell, South Fremont

Two baseball players from the South Fremont team that placed second at state will continue their playing careers at Grays Harbor Community College in Aberdeen, Wash.

An outfielder, Singleton posted a .328 batting average. He hit three home runs and drove in 25 runs in 25 games.

2009 Baseball Player of the Year: Braden Poole, Rigby

Rigby High School pitcher Braden Poole didn’t think he could improve on his junior year.
He put up ridiculous numbers as a junior, posting a 1.70 ERA and striking out 132 in 70 innings pitched, good for a 13.2 strikeout per seven inning ratio.

11-run second lifts Hillcrest to third place

Despite Rigby’s best efforts, it couldn’t over come Hillcrest’s 11-run second inning and Hillcrest hung on for a 16-10 win to take the third-place trophy at the 4A state baseball tournament.
