Working with certified water operator, learn the duties of a certified water operator and the functions of a community water system. Essential Job Duties- As directed by certified water operator or water board, trainee will conduct the operation, inspections, maintenance, and repair of: booster pump stations, water tanks, SCADA, electrical control systems, fire hydrants, water valves, distribution piping, water delivery, etc... Perform testing and reporting required by the DEQ for the water distribution system. Order and track supplies needed for the daily operations of the water system. Ancillary Job Duties- As directed, assume the duties by water operator and other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements. May be representative, but not all-inclusive. Provide own transportation to and from job sites. Active cell phone. Required to have active commercial liability insurance policy. Experience with water systems preferred but not required. Ability to be on call. Ability to operate mechanical equipment. Work Environment- Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the duties of this job. Indoor and outdoor work environment. Must use personal protective equipment to work around open trenches, confined spaces, chemicals, gases, and other toxic or dangerous substances or conditions.
