10 Peaks in 10 Weeks

This book is a reprint of material that appeared in the Post Register’s “Let’s Go!” section over a 10-week period from late August through October of 1995. The project was to take readers to the 10 highest points in the newspaper’s 10-county circulation area. We thought it would be fun to find and climb, hike or pedal to the top of all these high points. If turned out to be a very enjoyable adventure. These 10 counties not only have some of the state’s best wild country, but some of the nation’s best. In the course of doing this project we discovered some wonderful sights, beautiful country and had many interesting experiences. This booklet also includes a brief mention of 21 other high spots worth trying. I hope this project will encourage you to get out and enjoy some of the region’s great backcountry.
