Man missing in Snake River identified, presumed dead

The Bingham County Sheriff’s Office has identified a man who went missing Wednesday on the Snake River near Shelley.

Bryce Lloyd, 48, was fishing with another person when his boat flipped. The other occupant made his way to shore, but Lloyd has not been found.

The accident was reported to the sheriff’s office at about 2:23 p.m. Wednesday. Sheriff Craig Rowland said Lloyd is presumed dead. Three boats with side-scan sonar are searching the bottom of the river, two from Bingham County and one from Bonneville County.

Rowland said the primary search area is from a divergence south of North Bingham County Park to three-quarters of a mile downstream.

Foggy conditions have limited visibility on the river, hindering law enforcement’s efforts.

Lloyd is an attorney in Blackfoot with Blaser, Oleson & Lloyd.
