Two hurt in vehicle crash near Ashton

Post Register

Two Jackson, Wyo., residents were injured late Saturday afternoon in crash on U.S. Highway 20 near Ashton.

Judith A. Barth, 59, Lapine, Ore., was eastbound in a 2000 GMC Yukon pulling an oversized camp trailer, the Idaho State Police reported.

Barth was trying to slow down for Ashton city limits when she lost control of the trailer. The trailer fish-tailed and side swiped a westbound 2010 Jeep, the news release said.

The trailer proceeded to roll and completely blocked Highway 20 for about 2 hours.

Donald E. Echelmeyer, 50, and his passenger Katherine R. Wiseheart, 49, both of Jackson, were transported by ambulance to Madison Memorial Hospital in Rexburg.

They were treated for their injuries and released, a hospital spokeswoman said. No injuries were reported in Barth's vehicle.
