Jefferson Co. teen is injured

A 16-year-old Jefferson County boy was reported in "critical but stable" condition late Thursday with head injuries and multiple broken bones he received when he drove his motorcycle into the path of an oncoming car, authorities said.

The accident was reported at 6:27 p.m. on state Highway 48 -- between Rigby and Ririe -- when the boy, who was not identified, failed to yield as he pulled out of his driveway, according to a Jefferson County Sheriff's Office news release.

The driver of the car, Shane Joseph Jones, 28, of Rigby, was not injured.

The boy, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported by Air Idaho to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
