Defending Storer

Received Sept. 27

I have been out of town for the past couple of weeks, so I have not had time to write a letter to the editor; plus I had to count to 10 before I expressed some of my thoughts. I wanted people to know that I have known Mr. Storer for over 40 years and you would be hard-pressed to find someone that is more honest and respected in the state of Idaho as an attorney and person. Yes, he made some billing errors and he is the one who called for an investigation. Mr. Storer owned up that he made some mistakes and took the blame, but in my limited knowledge about government, doesn't the council approve the bills? Instead of putting the blame on someone else, Mr. Storer took the high road and didn't try to blame someone and resigned. Whatever happened to forgiveness, or do we like to see someone fall so it makes us feel better about ourselves? I know controversy like this sells newspapers, but those who live in glass houses and throw rocks better be careful that they don't get hit. I am proud to say I know Mr. Storer and to call him a friend. (Word count: 203)
