McCullough dialed in from long range for Big Bend's Vikings

Rigby graduate Kamen McCullough couldn't miss from long distance this past week, hitting all eight of his 3-point attempts in a pair of wins for the Big Bend Vikings.

McCullough hit all five of his triples Friday during a 111-87 win over Blue Mountain, and three more during a 92-64 win over Treasure Valley on Saturday.

The BBCC freshman's 8-for-8 weekend raised his 3-point shooting percentage from 35 to 39 percent.

Fellow Rigby graduate Kyle Nield had a huge night for Big Bend in the win over TVCC, finishing with 33 points and eight rebounds.

Also at Big Bend, Sugar-Salem graduate Kevin Walker had seven points and six assists in the win over the Chukars. The Runnin' Vikings are now 15-4.

Blackfoot graduate and Westminster graduate Jordan Bjornberg made the most of his 16 minutes Friday, finishing with 11 points and five assists during a

95-62 win over Carroll.

Also for the Griffins, Blackfoot product Jordan Bjornberg had eight points and three assists in the win over Carroll. Westminster is now 16-4.

Salmon graduate and Walla Walla Warriors big man Austin Nooner had six points and five rebounds Wednesday during a 104-99 loss to Yakima. WWCC is now 9-8.

Swimming

Idaho Falls graduate Ethan Griffel won four freestyle races this past weekend to lead Wyoming to an 8-0 mark at the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Duals.

Griffel won the 200-yard free-style in 1-minute, 42.52-seconds on Friday, adding a second win in the 500 (4:43.89). He also won the 200 (1:41.80) and 100

(46.12) on Saturday.

Also representing the Tigers in the collegiate pool, Stevens Institute of Technology regular Allison Henning finished second in the 400 freestyle relay (3:49.84) and fifth in the 50 freestyle (26.01) Saturday during a 164-94 loss to No. 4 Johns Hopkins.

Bonneville graduate and Adams State swimmer Kelsie Baggs won the 100 backstroke in 1:06.16 and helped her team win the 200 medley relay (1:53.88) in a 135-54 win over Colorado School of Mines.

Wrestling

Wyoming senior 197-pounder and Blackfoot grad Alfonso Hernandez scored a 19-3 technical fall during a 21-13 win over South Dakota State on Saturday.

The Cowboys are now 7-3 in duals.

Gymnastics

Rigby grad and Sacramento State junior Cayla Beutler finished fourth in the bal-ance beam (9.75) and uneven bars (9.725) during a home double dual against San Jose State and Arizona State.

The Hornets finished second with 194.250 points, 0.1 back of ASU's winning total.

Women's basketball

West Jefferson graduate and College of Southern Idaho standout Cassidy Skidmore was perfect from 3-point range Saturday, hitting all four of her long-range attempts to finish with a game-high 18 points during a 97-69 win over Utah State-Eastern. The Golden Eagles are now 11-9.

Colorado State-Pueblo senior and Teton graduate Laurel Kearsley had 17 points and ninerebounds, both team highs, Saturday during a 76-71 win over Colorado School of Mines. CSU-P is now 11-4.

Blackfoot graduate and Blue Mountain freshman Shay

Rodriguez had 13 points and three rebounds Friday during a 68-62 win over Big Bend. BMCC is now 7-10.

Also from Blackfoot, Treasure Valley's Cerissa Honena had seven points and six rebounds Friday during a 78-40 loss to Spokane. The Chukars are 1-15.

Eastern Oregon senior Chayla Jones finished with six points and four assists Saturday to help her team to an 89-71 win over Southern Oregon. EOU is now 21-1 and is ranked sixth in latest NAIA Div. II coaches poll.
