Rangers bats erupt in sweep of Bees

At Bonneville, the Idaho Falls Rangers racked up 32 hits and swept a Single-A American Legion baseball doubleheader against the Idaho Falls late Thursday.

The Rangers won the opener 14-6 before taking the nightcap 12-3 in six innings due to darkness.

Andy Clements led the Rangers at the plate, finishing the day with three triples. Corbin John went 5 for 5 in the nightcap, falling a triple short of the cycle.

"We actually went through a period where (the Bees) struck out four in a row," Idaho Falls coach Pat Lloyd said. "But we regrouped a little bit, started being more aggressive and put the ball in play."

The Rangers (6-6) travel to Sugar-Salem today for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
