Emotion Bowl tickets on sale this week
Tickets for the annual Emotion Bowl football game between Idaho Falls and Skyline high schools will be sold from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday, and then be on sale beginning at 5 p.m. Friday at Ravsten Stadium. Idaho Falls is the home team for this year's game, and only their passes will be honored. Apple Tennis to host adult lessons
Apple Tennis will be offering a series of tennis lessons geared for beginning adult tennis players. Lessons will start Oct. 2 and run from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. each Wednesday for five weeks. The cost is $40, and membership at Apple is not required. Sign up by calling Apple Tennis at 529-0300.
Miles for Montessori Run scheduled
The inaugural Miles for Montessori 5k run will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday at South Tourist Park in Idaho Falls. The cost is $25 and all proceeds will benefit the Snake River Montessori School. Packet pickup and registration will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Snake river Montessori School or on race day. For information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Girls 12U fastpitch softball tryouts set
Tryouts for a traveling team will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Rigby High School softball diamond. Girls who will be 12 or younger on Dec. 31 are eligible to play. The team will be coached by Larry Choffin and Jason Cherry. For information, call Jason Cherry at 520-8456.
Sage Lakes to host Bud Light tourney
Sage Lakes Golf Course will host the Bud Light two-person best-ball tournament Friday. Players must have USGA handicaps, and teammates' handicaps must be within 10 strokes of each other or the high handicap drops. The entry fee is $40 per player plus greens fees or a season pass, and it includes lunch. The tournament begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start. For information or to enter, call 612-8535.
Ron Sayer 2-person scramble scheduled
The Idaho Falls Country Club will be the site of the 2013 Ron Sayer 2-person scramble Saturday, with an entry fee of $60 per team plus cart. Nonmember fees are sponsored by Ron Sayer. For information or to register, contact the golf shop at 523-5762.
Fall youth hoops league now forming
The Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation Department is taking registrations for its youth basketball league, which is for players in grades one through six. Games will be played Saturday mornings. The leagues are based on the grade players are entering this fall. In addition, the Parks and Rec Department is also holding registrations for junior high leagues, for players in grades seven and eight.
Cost for both leagues is $40 per player, and teams must register for the grade school league by 5 p.m. Oct. 4, and the junior high leaguer by Oct. 10. For information, call 612-8480 or visit www.ifrec.org.
