Speeding van carried $60,000
An early Sunday morning traffic stop led to the discovery of more than $60,000, authorities reported.
At 2:47 a.m., Idaho State Police pulled over a speeding 2013 Dodge Caravan that was westbound on U.S. Highway 20 near Idaho Falls, according to a news release.
During the traffic stop, the investigating officer "obtained probable cause to search the vehicle and discovered over $60,000 in cash."
The driver and two passengers, who were not identified, denied any knowledge of the cash, the news release said. The driver and passengers were released but the money was seized.
