An Idaho Falls woman was charged with felony trafficking in marijuana Thursday after Idaho Falls police officers found more than a pound of the drug in her home.

Officers went to Kimberly Gaitan's residence on the 700 block of Ninth Street to serve her papers on two felony warrants out of California.

Gaitan, 36, refused to show identification and initially prevented officers from entering by locking her door, police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen said.

When she eventually opened the door, officers entered and found nearly 20 ounces of marijuana, Hansen said.

Police also found drug paraphernalia, digital scales and about $1,700 in cash, Hansen said.

Gaitan was held at the Bonneville County Jail on Friday with bail set at $100,000.

If convicted, Gaitan will face a minimum of one year in prison and up to a $5,000 fine.
