Skyline, Salmon score victories


Tilar Clark led three Skyline High School girls basketball team in double figures as the Grizzlies rolled to a 61-43 win at Blackfoot in girls basketball action Saturday.

The Grizzlies led just 23-20 at halftime, but outscored the Broncos 38-23 in the second half.

"We came out with a lot of intensity and we finished the game very well," Skyline coach Gretchen Bell said.

Nicole Breidenbach and Brooklyn Anderson each scored 13 points for Skyline (2-0).

SALMON 62, TETON 33: At Salmon, the Savages raced out to an early lead in their season opener Saturday night, cruising to a solid win over the 3A Redskins.

Salmon junior Deshka Olson had four three pointers and led all scorers with 24 points. Teton guard Sadie Cook led her team with nine.

"The girls came out with great enthusiasm," Salmon coach Eric Bender said. "The rebounding was huge and we were able to capitalized on some great perimter passing. Everybody contributed on defense and it was a solid team win."

Salmon (1-0) will next play Thursday at Butte County, though the game may be rescheduled to avoid a conflict with the 1A, Division I championship football game scheduled for Friday in Eagle.
