Skyline football camp scheduled
The Skyline High School football program will host the annual summer camp from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. July 29 through July 31. The camp is for incoming high school football players in grades nine through 12. The cost is $50. Equipment can be checked out from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. through Thursday. District 6 seeks hoops commissioner
The District 6 High School Activities Associ-ation is seeking applications for the position of basketball commissioner for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. This person will be responsible for scheduling officials to all District 6 high school basketball games, recruiting and training new officials, evaluating officials and assigning officials to district and state tournaments. ISU Orange and Black Classic set
The annual Orange and Black Classic golf tournament is set for Aug. 10 at Highland Golf Course and Aug. 11 at Juniper Hills Country Club. Proceeds from the tournament benefit athletic scholarships at Idaho State. Participants can pay $75 per golfer for a four-person scramble and play on either Saturday or Sunday. To participate in both days of the event, the cost is $125 per golfer for a two-person scramble. Entry fees entitle each participant to green fees and a cart as well as lunch, beverages, a player gift and entrance to the Bengal Athletics kick-off Party at Idaho Orthopaedic & Sports Clin-ic, P.A. on Saturday night. City seeks flag football referees
The Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation Department is hiring referees for the youth flag football league. Applicants need a basic understanding of the game and be available Saturday mornings from Sept. 7 through October. For information, contact Chris Horsley at 612-8489.
Registration set for youth flag football
Registration for the City of Idaho Falls Park and Recreation division youth flag football is open. Registration packets are available at the Recreation Center. The deadline is 5 p.m. Aug. 19 and the cost is $39 per player. There are two leagues, first and second grade, and third and fourth grade. Leagues are based on the incoming grade for 2013-14. Adult flag football league forming
The Idaho Falls Parks and Recreation Department will offer adult flag football at a cost of $450 per team. Teams must register by Aug. 20 for the season that begins Sept. 17. Registration packets and additional information are available at www.ifrec.com or at the Recreation Center.
Chamber golf event coming to Blackfoot
The Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual golf tournament at Blackfoot Municipal Golf Course on Aug. 22. The tournament is a four-player scramble with a team fee of $280, which includes cart, lunch and a raffle ticket. For information or to sponsor a hole, contact the Chamber at 785-0510.
Gold Pot Classic sign-ups set
Pinecrest and Sand Creek golf courses will host the 41st annual Gold Pot Classic Saturday and Sunday. The event is individual stroke play with an entry fee of $65. To enter, call Pinecrest before Thursday.
Elite girls softball tryouts scheduled
The Boise Blast club team is seeking the top 16-to 18-year-old girls softball players in Idaho to compete in regional tournaments throughout the western states with the goal of showcasing local talent to collegiate recruiters. Sage Lakes lady best ball on tap
Sage Lakes Golf Course is taking registrations for its two-lady best ball/scramble scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Aug. 1. All players must have a USGA handicap and be within 10 strokes of their partner or the high handicap drops. For information contact the Sage Lakes pro shop at 612-8535.
Women's shooting clinic scheduled
The Skyline Gun Club will host an instructional shooting clinic for women at 9 a.m. Saturday. Preregistration is due Friday. Cost is $30 which includes targets, ammo, lunch and loaner shotguns. Benefit golf event coming to Rigby
The ninth annual Help, Inc. Golf Fore! Kids Scramble will be held at Jefferson Hills Golf Course at 10 a.m. Saturday. Four player teams are open to all competitors and no handicap is required. Cost per player is $35 plus green fees and includes lunch. For information, call Help, Inc., at 522-5545.
Football rules clinic scheduled
The mandatory District 6 football rules clinic for officials and coaches will be held in Room 135 at Idaho Falls High School on Aug. 8.
