Police: Facebook post led to attempted strangulation
A Facebook post led to a domestic dispute that landed an Idaho Falls man in jail Thursday.
Gregory Bosen, 42, was arrested by Idaho Falls Police officers for attempted strangulation and illegal possession of a firearm after the altercation. He was booked into the Bonneville County Jail, an IFPD news release said.
According to the news release, officers responded to the report of a physical domestic dispute on the 800 block of South Saturn Avenue around 9 p.m.
The 24-year-old victim told police Bosen grabbed her throat and shoved her against a wall. A Facebook post started the altercation, the news release said.
During the investigation, police officers learned that Bosen, a convicted felon, was also illegally in possession of two firearms.
Attempted strangulation is punishable by up to 15 years in prison. Unlawful possession of a firearm has a maximum sentence of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
