I.F. man arrested for assault

By Ruth Brown

An Idaho Falls man was arrested Friday after he reportedly pointed a gun at his wife after finding her kissing another man.

Idaho Falls police arrested Nathan Chad Blackburn, 35, for aggravated assault.

Police responded around 11:30 p.m. to his home, on the 1200 block of South Bellin Road, according to an IFPD news release.

Blackburn's wife, Melissa Blackburn, 28, and the man she was kissing, Jordan Czichotzki, 18, of Rigby, were standing in front of the house when they called police, police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen said.

The victims told police Nathan Blackburn became upset when he found them. They said he pulled a 9 mm handgun out of a bedroom dresser and pointed it at them, Hansen said.

Blackburn was released from Bonneville County Jail on Sunday on a $40,000 bond.

Aggravated assault is punishable by up to five years in prison.
