Fuhriman backs Casper for mayor

Idaho Falls Mayor Jared Fuhriman endorsed Rebecca Casper on Wednesday to be his successor come Election Day.

"Rebecca Casper is the best candidate to take us to the next level," Fuhriman said in a news release. "She is fully prepared to grow our local economy and

enhance our community -- and she'll do so by bringing people with a wide variety of viewpoints together."

Fuhriman announced earlier this year he would not run for re-election after serving two terms beginning in 2005. Casper said she is ready to pick up where Fuhriman leaves off.

"His hard efforts to make Idaho Falls better will make my job easier," she said. "I am honored to have his support and wish him and his family the best."
