ST. ANTHONY -- After an hourlong closed-door evaluation, the Fremont School Board voted in open session to extend Superintendent Garry Parker's contract.

The evaluation and contract vote are mandated each January by the board's policy manual.

Trustees Phil Baker, James Neubaur and Burke Hanks voted to extend Parker's contract. Trustee Shawn Dye voted against retaining Parker, and Trustee Ben Clark abstained.

The vote came with no discussion in open session.

Parker's annual salary is $77,033.44. That figure doesn't include benefits.

His salary was not adjusted as part of the contract extension. Parker's salary hasn't changed since the 2008-09 school year, when he took a cut in pay with other district staff.
