BURTENSHAW 60th: Don Martin Burtenshaw and Beverly Florence Taylor celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013.

Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple, and they have spent most of their married life farming and ranching in the Mud Lake Valley.

Don has traded cattle their whole married life, and was at different times partnered with such excellent people as Louis Merrill and Ben Jernberg in the Rexburg, Bozeman, Billings and Salmon Livestock Auctions, and in the course of business, civic and church service has made hundreds of cherished friends.

Beverly has always been the anchor for the family, her fondest passion, raising, caring for and loving eight children, 40 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren.

They are both active on the farm and ranch and in church and temple service. Don's hobbies are fishing in Island Park, fishing in St. George and fishing in Alaska. Beverly's are cooking fish, reading, crocheting and journals. They enjoy traveling together and with family and friends.

Don served on the school board for 24 years and in the Idaho Senate for 10 years, and Beverly served in the temple, at church, on the PTA and as a volunteer for seven years as an EMT for Mud Lake Quick Response.

Their children are Mike (deceased) (Kay Thompson), Steve (deceased) (Shelli Sanders), Lynn (Kaylene Young), Van (Joan Eaton), Sharon, Annette (Mitch Scott), David (Holly Coleman) and Lee (Lori Bell). Their children want them to know they are loved and revered.
