Bonneville County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a Shelley man for firing a gun at an Idaho Falls residence on Friday.
Michael Anthony Lopez, 52, was booked into Bonneville County Jail and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after reportedly firing multiple rounds with a 9 mm Berreta pistol after an argument with Daniel Black, 55.
Deputies responded after Black called them to his home at 7985 South 55 West around 11 p.m.
According to a news release, Lopez was outside Black's home when they began to argue. Lopez, who was intoxicated, reportedly pulled a pistol from his waistband and fired multiple rounds in the air, Bonneville County Sheriff's Office spokesman Jeff Edwards said. Black reportedly ran out the back door. Lopez reportedly left and drove by a few minutes later firing the gun at Black's home.
Deputies located Lopez's vehicle on 65th South near Dad's Travel Plaza.
Lopez remained in custody Monday with bond set at $25,000.
Aggravated assault is punishable by 15 years in prison. The deadly weapon enhancement could add an additional 15 years to the sentence.
