Search begins for new Bannock County judge

The 6th Judicial District Magistrates Commission is seeking public comment about applicants for the position now held by Bannock County Magistrate Judge Gaylen Box.

Box is retiring and will serve as a senior judge for the county, according to a 6th Judicial District news release.

Questionnaires for public comment can be obtained from the court record's office in the Bannock County Courthouse at 624 E. Center St., Room 218, or at any local Idaho elected clerk's office, according to the news release. To receive a copy via email, contact trial court administrator Suzanne Johnson at suzyj@bannockcounty.us.

Questionnaires must be returned to the Bannock County Courthouse by Oct. 24.

Richard Allen Diehl Jr. -- deputy prosecutor for the city of Pocatello, Chubbuck

Joe Denton Dobbins Jr. -- private attorney, Pocatello

David A. Hooste -- private attorney, Firth

Mary Shea Huneycutt -- private attorney, Inkom

Angela Jensen -- Idaho Legal Aid, Pocatello

Ian Christopher Johnson -- deputy public defender for Bannock County, Pocatello

David Robert Martinez -- chief public defender for Bannock County, Pocatello

Douglas K. Merkley -- private attorney, Pocatello

Nick Lewis Nielson -- private attorney, Pocatello

Mark R. Petersen -- private attorney, Pocatello

Zachary G. Parris -- deputy prosecutor for Bannock County, Pocatello
