The 2022 edition of the River of No Return Endurance Runs are scheduled for Saturday, June 18 in Challis.

Three races are planned again this year: a 32K, a 55K and a 108K. Runners tackling the longest route begin at 5 a.m., starting their race from city park. The 55K race at 6:30 a.m. also starts in city park. The 32K race begins at 8:30 a.m. from Bayhorse. Shuttles take the 32K runners from city park to the ghost town for the race start.

All the races end in city park and the final stretch of the races are down Main street, onto U.S. Highway 93 at the bottom of Main and back to the park. People are encouraged to cheer the runners on as they pass through the core of the city at the end of their runs. People can join runners along Main, if they wish.

The colorful, inflatable finish line is set up in the park, along with kiddie pools for runners to cool their feet in. Every race finisher is celebrated as she or he crosses under the arches. Awards and swag are presented in the park, too.

The races have filled in most recent years, drawing about 400 competitors and hundreds more crew members to the community. Last year, every race record was broken.
