Bruce Tietjen, 62, of Ammon, passed away August 30, 2018, as the result of a motorcycle accident in Bingham County.
Bruce was born August 5, 1956, in Gallup, New Mexico, to Amos Junior Tietjen and Beth Davenport Tietjen. He grew up and attended schools in Bluewater, New Mexico, and Ammon, Idaho, and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1974. He also attended Ricks College.
Bruce served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Minnesota, Minneapolis Mission from November 1975 until November 1977.
On May 20, 1978, he married Jill Cooley in the Salt Lake City Temple. To this union were born four daughters, Mickie Ann, Kimberly, Jillyn, and Brookie. Bruce and Jill made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Bruce worked at Merlin’s TV for sixteen years and most recently as a Temple Facilities Assistant at the Idaho Falls Temple for the past fourteen years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the scouting program and in multiple Bishoprics. He served in the Ammon Stake High Council. He enjoyed family vacations, camping, jet skiing, riding his motorcycle, and making memories with his daughters, sons-in-law, and his grandchildren.

daughter, Mickie Ann and Jeffrey Kidd of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Kimberly and Trent Harding of Gillette, WY;
daughter, Jillyn and Shilo Bingham of Blackfoot, ID;
daughter, Brookie and Aaron Bedwell of Thornton, CO;
mother-in-law, Grace Cooley Johnson of Midvale, UT;
16 grandchildren, Tietjen, Anna Belle, Aiden, Kristie, Kiri, Bryan, Blake, Caleb, Gavin, Aubrey, Kyler, Kaitlyn, Addison, Landon, Janie, and Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law, Kenneth F. Cooley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Ammon 4th Ward, 4375 East Sunnyside Road, with Bishop Mitch Kvarfordt officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
