Coronavirus Covid-19 Virus Pandemic

Thirteen more eastern Idaho residents have died from the COVID-19 pandemic in the past week, according to reports from Eastern Idaho Public Health.

The most recent casualties of the global pandemic brings the region’s death toll to 369 since Eastern Idaho Public Health started counting in June 2020.

More than half of the deaths over the past week were in Bonneville County. Two people died in Jefferson County, Two people in Fremont County and one each in Lemhi and Teton. Eight of the dead were men and five were women.

Four of the deceased were in their 50s, four in their 60s, one in her 70s, two in their 80s and two were 90 or older.

Eastern Idaho Public Health tracks COVID-19 deaths across eight counties — Bonneville, Clark, Custer, Fremont, Lemhi, Jefferson, Madison and Teton. The counties have a population of about a quarter-million between them.

Statewide there have been more than 300,000 COVID-19 cases and more than 3,800 deaths, according to the state’s coronavirus website.
