At Bonneville and Thunder Ridge, Bonneville High School volleyball swept Idaho Falls and Thunder Ridge in three sets each to remain perfect on the season.

The Bees swept the Tigers at home 25-9, 25-10 and 25-11 before sweeping the Titans at their new gym, 25-18, 25-13, 25-11.

Bonneville coach Chantal McMurtrey said she was proud of her team’s early energy during both matches.

“It was a pretty efficient night for (Bonneville),” McMurtrey said. “We wanted the girls to have good, high energy to start the matches.”

Makayla Sorensen finished with 17 kills, eight aces and 15 digs through two matches while Sade Williams finished with 17 kills, too, along with 11 digs and three aces.

Sadie Lott had 19 kills, four blocks and 16 digs. Alexis McMurtrey finished with 63 assists, three aces and 12 digs.

Bonneville (6-0, 3-0 4A District 6) plays at the Rocky Mountain Championship Classic beginning Friday in Lehi, Utah.

SHELLEY 3, SKYLINE 1: At Shelley, the Russets came from behind in set one to defeat Skyline 25-23, 22-25, 25-18, 25-17 for a conference win.

Shelley trailed 23-8 in set one before Paige Weimer scored 17 consecutive service points to give the Russets the 25-23 win.

“It was a well-rounded team effort,” Shelley coach Dave Cousin said. “We were pretty consistent across the board with hitting.”

Sydney Leal had 16 kills, two blocks and one ace while Weimer had six kills, one block and six aces. Setter M.E. Gillespie had five kills, two blocks, three aces and 14 assists and freshman outside hitter Alexis Leckington had seven kills. well rounded team effort.

Shelley (4-6, 2-0 4A District 6) plays Thursday at Blackfoot.

WEST JEFFERSON 3, CHALLIS 0: At Challis, the Panthers swept the Vikings with set scores of 25-20, 25-13 and 25-15.

Challis coach Debbie Sheppeard said her team struggled with West Jefferson’s serving, as Hannah Corrigan had four kills and three aces during the loss.

Austyn Erickson finished with seven digs on the evening.

“We had trouble with West Jefferson’s serves,” Sheppeard said. “Hannah had a couple of nice serves in the second set, but we struggled against their serving.”

Challis (1-1) plays Thursday at Grace. West Jefferson (2-2) hosts the West Jefferson tournament Saturday.

Boys soccer

RIGBY 11, BONNEVILLE 1: At Bonneville, the Trojans scored 11 goals in the second half thanks to four goals by Taylor Davis and two goals each from David Resendiz and Tyken Stibal.

Tied 0-0 at half, the Trojans’ offense exploded thanks to slight halftime adjustments and improved passing.

Kylan Mower, Ethan Thompson and Kyle Davie were Rigby’s other goal scorers.

“We changed up some personnel and tinkered the game plan a little bit,” Rigby coach Bart Mower said. “It lit a spark under them, I think.”

Rigby (3-1-2, 1-0-0 5A District 6) plays Saturday against Madison.

Girls soccer

BONNEVILLE 6, RIGBY 1: At Rigby, Hunter Christensen and Madison Pugmire scored two goals each for the Bees in a nonconference win over Rigby.

Grace Haroldsen and McKenzie Pugmire had one goal each for Bonneville (3-2-2), who got their first win since Aug. 23.

“We were able to move some girls around to different positions and give a lot of experience to the younger girls,” Bees coach Amy Feik said in an email.

Bonneville hosts Idaho Falls on Thursday.

SKYLINE 8, THUNDER RIDGE 0: At the Idaho Falls Soccer Complex, Bernice Chavez got a hat trick for the Grizz in a nonconference win.

Chavez scored within the first 30 seconds of the match off a Katie Nawrocki assist, the sixth minute off another Nawrocki assist and in the 16th minute off a Brea Danklefsen assist.

The Grizz scored all eight goals in the first half and led 4-0 by the 10 minute mark. Also scoring were Danklefsen (second minute unassisted), Nawrocki (ninth minute, Haley Mickelsen assist), Reagan Hart (23rd minute, Danklefsen assist) and Anna Cheret (29th minute and 35th minute, both unassisted).

Skyline (5-1-0, 4-0-0) hosts Shelley on Thursday.

IDAHO FALLS 3, BLACKFOOT 2: At Idaho Falls Soccer Complex, the Tigers got a crucial conference win over the Broncos after taking a 3-0 lead during the first 40 minutes.

Idaho Falls led 2-0 at halftime, as Brittany Neider scored in the first minute before Remi Brandley scored in the 35th.

From an assist from Caralee Brasher, Kennedy Robertson scored in the 58th minute before Blackfoot scored in the 62nd and 64th minute.

“It went really well. Those 20 minutes got to us, but we did well,” Idaho Falls coach Erika Lin said.

“Our defense killed it,” Lin added.

Idaho Falls (3-2-0, 2-1-0 4A District 6) plays Thursday at Bonneville.
