The Thunder Ridge High School volleyball team coached by Keisha Fisher and Jaclyn Hawkins defeated Skyline on Saturday to win the annual Skyline Classic tournament. The team consists of Austyn Landon, Baylee Leavitt, Witney Belliston, Emma Blaine, Madelyn Moulten, Hallie Gifford, Avery Turnage, Brooklyn Rose, Lauren Davenport, Kristin Jones and Bailey Caterall.

At Blackfoot, Chris Botello had a hat trick and Ivan Zamora chipped in two goals in the Blackfoot boys soccer team’s 7-1 conference win over Shelley.

Botello scored two of his goals in the first half, including one 24 seconds into the game.

“It was a good bounce back win for us,” Blackfoot coach Liam Pope said. “We haven’t been scoring enough lately, so we changed things up and the kids did exactly what we expected them to do.”

Blackfoot led 4-0 at halftime. Botello got the Broncos on the board in the second half. After Zamoras’s second goal, Nick Quezada, who normally plays goal keeper, added the final goal. Shelley scored its one goal in the 65th minute.

Blackfoot (3-2-2, 3-1-1 4A District 6) plays Saturday at Skyline while Shelley (1-6-0, 1-4-0) hosts Rigby on Thursday.
